Dr. Tanya Fraser was born and raised in West Michigan. After breeding and showing horses, her passion for animals led her to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies where she earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She finished her clinical year at the University of Minnesota and began working at Allendale Animal Hospital in 2006. Dr. Fraser knew what a special place it was the second she walked through the door. She purchased the clinic in 2009 when Dr. Lemke was ready to retire. She spends her free time with her husband Mike, and their two children Marlie and Zach, and their exchange student Gloria who they're hosting this year from Spain. Completing the family are cats Ziggy and Miggy, and a golden retriever named Nesta.
Dr. Emma Neuberger is originally from the Grand Haven area and attended Grand Haven High School. Her undergraduate degree was completed at Auburn University in Zoology. From there she traveled to the island of St. Kitts to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She then finished her veterinary degree at Washington State University. She lives in Spring Lake with her husband Justin, son Tyler, and dogs Rory and Reggie. When she's not at the clinic caring for animals and performing soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, she loves skiing, hiking, and swimming which makes Michigan's outdoors a perfect fit.
Dr. Kim Ernst grew up in Rochester, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University where she received a Masters in Veterinary Anatomy, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Go State! "Dr. Kim" joined the team at Allendale Animal Hospital in 1988. When she's not helping care for your pets, husband Troy, a Forensic Scientist with the Michigan State Police, children Eli, Anna and Leah, and pets Keykey, a six year old Labrador, 13-year old Scout, and Oscar the cat, keep her busy.
Dr. Samantha Gerbers grew up in the Grand Haven area. She attended Michigan State University where she earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Zoology followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She practiced as an emergency veterinarian for several years while working the occasional day here at Allendale Animal Hospital. After having her first son in 2014, she became a permanent part of the Allendale Animal Hospital team. She lives in Rockford with her husband, Cory, step-son, Ty,sons, Declan and Silas, and Chihuahua, Leroy.
Dawn VanDyken is the office manager at AAH. Growing up, she was always the kid playing with the puppies and kittens. She's loved them since she can remember, especially German Shepherds. She was thrilled to get a job working at a German Shepherd kennel when she was just twelve years old. She's still involved showing in breed, obedience, rally, agility, and tracking. Dawn is married to Terry. They enjoy spending time with their son Jason and his wife Amanda, and daughter Jane and her husband Joel—especially at the cottage!
Mary Espinoza is one of the first friendly faces you'll see at reception at AAH. One of her most unique job experiences was working on a diary farm milking cows. She also worked on a potato farm. For her 50th birthday Mary hiked/climbed a 14,000 ft. peak in Colorado! She doesn't have any pets at the moment but is enjoying her two granddogs.
Brandy Skantze is originally from Grand Blanc, MI but she now lives in Grand Haven. She is married to Jason and they have two dogs. Memphis is a Pug/Boston Terrier mix and Tahoe is a blue Boston Terrier. Brandy and Jason just lost their beautiful 10 year old mix, Jersey. Brandy graduated from GVSU with a degree in Criminal Justice, however her passion has always been animals. Brandy is also the head cheerleading coach at Grand Valley State! Go Lakers!!
Alyssa Mester is from Grand Rapids where she lives with her husband Geoffrey, Australian Shepherd mix Bauer, and two chinchillas, Frances Houseman and Andie Walsh. As you may be able to tell from her chinchillas' names, Alyssa loves cheesy 80s romance movies (especially if they star Molly Ringwald). Alyssa graduated from GRCC and then obtained her associates degree in veterinary technology from Baker College in Muskegon. Her favorite part of being a technician is cuddling the pets, but she also enjoys client education.
Annie VanFarowe is from Allendale. She has three brothers, a springer spaniel named Norman, and a cat called Phyllis. Annie enjoys the outdoors and she has a special place in her heart for fostering kittens. Annie loves what she does and who she gets to do it with. Her favorite part of working at AAH is seeing puppies for their first visit and getting to watch them grow up. One day Annie hopes to live on a farm with lots of animals.
Sari Campbell was born and raised in Grand Rapids. She went to Kenowa Hills High School, where she met her husband, and proceeded on to Baker College of Muskegon to get her LVT license. Sari married in 2014, and she and her husband recently welcomed baby Evie Mae into their family. They also have four dogs—two Great Danes and two miniature Dachshunds, as well as two orange kitties and a horse. Sari has quite the busy bunch at home but she wouldn't want it any other way!
Nicole Avery grew up in Hudsonville and attended GVSU where she received a Bachelor's in biology. She received her veterinary technician degree from Baker's College. Her family includes her fiance Jared and lab Maverick. Nicole enjoys baking and trying new recipes. She and her four younger siblings like to participate in "Adventure 5ks" together.
Michelle Falbe grew up in the North Muskegon area and has always had a passion for animals. Caring for critters in need and nursing them back to health has been a part of her life since she was a little girl. Michelle graduated from Baker College of Muskegon in 2010 with her Associates Degree in Applied Science. Now living in NW Grand Rapids, Michelle and her boyfriend have two dogs, and a cat. In her spare time Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends and doing outdoor activities.
Sarah Merriman moved to Muskegon from Grand Rapids with her family four years ago. She's currently studying at Baker College and is also is a LuLaRoe Consultant. Sarah and her husband of twelve years have three kids, four rabbits, three cats, a rat, three hermits crabs and fish! Sarah loves the outdoors and living by the lakeshore.
Brooke Weist is a licensed vet technician from Grand Rapids. She attended college at Baker in Muskegon. Brooke and her husband Gordi have a full house! Brooke has a step-son named Joey and a baby boy named Parker, a shih tzu mix name Wesley, a cocker mix named Miya, and two cats, Jack and Banana Pancakes. Brooke and her family enjoy hiking and camping every summer.
Casey Adams is excited to have joined the staff at Allendale Animal Hospital! Casey has lived in Allendale for the past twelve years and has been home schooled her whole life. Casey is the Artistic Director of For His Glory Ballet and the owner of Once Upon A Dream Princess Parties. She enjoys musical theatre, dancing, running and rowing.
Sam Wright is originally from Grand Rapids but enjoys working in Allendale! Sam just got married to Aaron and they have a beautiful daughter. Sam is obsessed with her two pit bulls. Sam believes that Red Hot Sauce can be applied to all food; it can never be too hot! Sam enjoys working with animals and with people who love their pets. Sam spends her off time kayaking, hunting and taking the dogs on golf cart runs!
Caity Parsons is originally from Sterling Heights, Michigan. She now lives in southeast Grand Rapids with her sister, brother-in-law, and two nieces, Tatum and Lochlan. Caity graduated from Baker College of Muskegon where she obtained her LVT license. She has a kitty named June and a bunny named Cash. Caity loves trying new restaurants and breweries in Grand Rapids. She also loves camping and spending time on the great lakes in her spare time.
Clair Holstege is from West Olive where she lives with her many fur babies. She has a super cute dog, five cats, and several small animals, including three rabbits, two chinchillas, and also many rats! Since she was little, she has had a heart for animals and her love for them has led her to working at AAH! When Clair isn't loving on her pets, she enjoys painting and spending time with her husband, Josh!
